Reporting to the Group Financial Controller you will ensure ElectraNet is compliant with Australian and relevant accounting standards and its regulatory reporting obligations. You will be accountable for the organisation's Financial Accounting transactions, governance and overall financial stewardship and controls, transactional oversight, financial reporting accuracy and technical Financial Accounting advisory to the business.
The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Leading the preparation of accurate, timely and streamlined statutory half year and annual financial statements and associated Board and Audit & Compliance Committee papers.
• Ensuring the team delivers up to date accounting policies and procedures to the business to provide financial stewardship around accounting policy.
• Providing assurance to the Group Financial Controller for the accuracy of monthly management results prepared by the FP&A team and alignment to statutory and regulatory accounts.
• Leading the implementation of the new Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards.
• Guiding the team to achieve its operational objectives by providing clear direction, setting challenging and meaningful goals and behavioural expectations, actively managing performance and empowering team members to succeed.
• Supporting the team leader in managing the governance and financial stewardship for Procurement processes and policies, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables and Credit Cards transactions.
Success in this role is characterised by your ability to proactively deliver ElectraNet's vision through applying their extensive Financial Accounting experience. The ability to build strong working relationships across broad internal and external stakeholder groups, an exceptional degree of attention to detail and accounting excellence is critical to success in the role. You will have a strong ability to apply innovative thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a service delivery mentality.
Exceptional leadership and delegation skills, and a proven ability to deliver outcomes through teams is essential. Applying theoretical and practical Financial Accounting knowledge to common as well as complex matters arising from the operations of a Transmission business is essential as is in-depth knowledge of accounting standards and practices and practical experience in accounting/regulatory compliance.
It is essential you hold a Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or related discipline and/or equivalent experience as well as approved accountancy or post graduate qualification (e.g. CA/CPA).
