Manager - Front Of House

Waxflower (Waxflower Bar Pty Ltd) is looking to hire a full-time, permanent Manager for our Front of House.

Waxflower is a wine bar and restaurant with a strong focus on music and atmosphere. We pair a carefully curated dining menu with an exciting wine list populated by some of the world's best natural wine producers.

We also offer events in our new atrium space. The atrium houses a second bar and seating area for private dining and events and will allow the business to serve up to 150 people. 

We are seeking an experienced hospitality leader who is organised, confident, and capable of delivering a smooth customer experience.

Hours (expected 38+ with some flexibility) with a salary range of $70 - 80K per annum excluding superannuation (benefits and whole package will be competitive and discussed directly with candidates).

We are looking for someone to grow long term with our business.

Responsibilities:

·        FOH management, including rear Atrium space

·        Maintaining wine, bar and food supplier relationships with purchasing 

·        Management of event planning and logistics

·        Coordination of staffing and rostering

·        Communicate with the Head Chef to ensure the tailoring of the menu and drinks according to customer expectations

·        Supervising FOH and working the floor as required

·        Working closely with Directors to discuss and implement new strategies

·        Upskilling new staff members 

Requirements:

·        Minimum 3 years’ experience in hospitality in a venue manager role or similar

·        A formal hospitality qualification (diploma level or higher) is preferred by not required

·        Strong passion and knowledge of wine or cocktail knowledge is desirable

·        A relaxed, friendly, professional, and confident attitude

·        Outgoing, personable, and team-oriented

·        Good people management skills

·        Strong communication skills

·        Attention to detail

·        Able to work a consistent set of hours, including weekend work

·        Must hold current RSA certificate, or be able to obtain one promptly

·        Proficient in word and excel, knowledge of websites and their general operation, booking systems, point of sale platforms and social media platforms.

·        High levels of spoken and written English
