Our ongoing support to our clients’ open pit and underground mines requires a full time Manager – Geotechnical Site Services to join our team of engineers and geologists. The company's preferred candidate has a minimum of ten years practical experience as a geotechnical engineer supporting operational mines and is a member of Engineers Australia or AusIMM. A Masters or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering is required.
The successful applicant will be responsible for managing our site support projects, including client liaison, team management and mentoring. The position is primarily based in our Perth office but will require regular travel to oversee our site support projects and employees.
Reporting to the Principal Engineer, key responsibilities will include:
- Overall responsibility for managing site support contracts with clients and site support employees.
- Support and continuous development of learning program for early career employees.
- Support, mentor, assist and assess early career employees undertaking learning program.
- Regular site visits to assess employee development and cultivate client relationships.
- Manage schedules for site support employees, incorporating training and development requirements.
- Prepare proposals for site support, and manage these contracts (client liaison, updating job management system, approving timesheets, etc)
- Undertake mine operational support on occasion.
Key selection criteria include:
- At least ten years mine site operational experience or consulting experience in hard rock operations
- A Masters Degree or higher in Geotechnical Engineering
- Demonstrated experience in managing employees
- Written cover letter that directly addresses your experience of the key responsibilities
- The right attitude to fit within our dynamic company and contract situations that we work with
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Practical and technical knowledge of underground and open pit mining
- Applicants must have the right to work in Australia, or be able to obtain rights to work in Australia, and be currently residing in Western Australia or willing to relocate to Western Australia

Remuneration
