Overview:
The Manager, Health System Planning is accountable to the Executive Director, Planning and Commissioning for:
- Leading and managing the development of planning processes and activities that ensure appropriate planning for future health services and facilitate implementation of identified health reforms across the system.
- Developing a South Australian Health Needs Assessment that includes researching and analysing international, national and local evidence to identify best evidence, practice and service delivery options for adaptation for the South Australian Health Care System. This evidence will support the development and design of new service models based on program performance and best practice principles.
- Leading and managing the development of a ten year system-level Clinical Services Plan that will inform a 20-year health infrastructure plan, workforce planning models and inform the identification of clear commissioning intentions for the Department by contributing to the development of a Commissioning Plan.
- Providing Health System Planning advice and direction to the system that emphasises consideration of population based health needs, a system-wide perspective and future focussed view of health projection methodologies to inform future health needs through robust and regular review of modelling assumptions.
