Are you a seasoned professional with a passion for driving proactive change and ensuring the highest standards of Road Transport Safety? Join us as our Manager, HSE Road Transport Safetyand be a key player in advancing engagement, performance, and a compliance culture across our dynamic business.
Your role will be pivotal in creating a culture of support through coaching and face-to-face engagement. Ensuring consistency in implementation, you will champion the use of documented plans, procedures, and forms to demonstrate compliance with corporate systems. You will actively develop corporate, BU, and site-level plans, procedures, and forms as needed to drive robust compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
As the HSE – Road Transport Safety Manager, your primary focus will be on the proactive implementation and continuous improvement of RTS systems, performance, and compliance. Your actions will be aligned with the four pillars of the RTS strategy, with a strong operational focus. Day-to-day activities will involve delivering interventions to reduce operational RTS risk and engaging operators to manage their obligations within their sphere of control.
In this role, you will take charge of managing the overarching on-road RTS compliance requirements including but not limited to:
Loading and load restraint
Mass and dimensions
Speed and fatigue management
Vehicle standards
Subcontractor management
Essential Skills: Knowledge/Experience:
4-10 years of hands-on experience in an HSE role, with an astute focus on transport and logistics or Road Transport compliance.
A proven track record in managing relationships with internal clients and external stakeholders.
Experience in participating in third-party audits and the development of corrective action plans.
Technical Prowess:
Possesses a detailed knowledge of HSE legislation, industry standards, and management system standards (AS4801, OHSAS18001 & ISO14001).
An understanding of Chain of Responsibility legislation and the Australian Master Code of Practice for Chain of Responsibility.
Demonstrate an ability to exercise sound judgment in interpreting HSE and Road Transport Safety legislation and audit criteria.
Qualifications:
Holds a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and/or another relevant discipline.
Tertiary HSE qualifications (highly desirable).
Internal Auditor qualifications - IRCA, Exemplar Global, or equivalent (desirable).
Fatigue Risk Management equivalent to TLIF0006 or higher (desirable).Travel each month is required
