Key Outcomes and Accountabilities
The aim of this role is to:
- Lead QBCC industry skilling programs and work plans including:
- Capture and test evidence to support skilling initiatives which in turn support strategic and operational decisions;
- Lead and undertake internal and external stakeholder analysis and development including engagement frameworks and reporting mechanisms;
- Provide leadership and coaching to internal business units to ensure a whole of organisation approach to industry skilling initiatives;
- Lead and manage functional and situational workgroups to deliver programs and, when required, project outcomes.
- Identify training and professional development needs and opportunities for coaching and mentoring staff
- Develop productive relationships with training and Industry Skills providers to support QBCC and capability uplift outcomes.
- Actively identify opportunities to pursue initiatives which assist QBCC to expand the skills and capability of customers, including licensees, industry stakeholders and homeowners
- Ensure that business unit programs, systems and processes meet QBCC objectives, and provide for effective management and mitigation of risk, cost effective outcomes, leverage and optimise available technology and resources, and the capacity for implementation and user acceptance and application.
- Establish, develop and maintain sound working relationships with stakeholders including industry associations and organisations, community groups, and industry skilling providers to achieve greater awareness of the Commission's aims, and to foster a co-operative or partnership approach to fulfil the Commission's aims, and to maintain current knowledge of relevant industry and regulatory happenings.
The ideal candidate will be able to: * Demonstrate knowledge and experience in developing and/or leading programs of work that support the building of Industry Skills and/or industry regulatory compliance through the enhancement of capability and knowledge, such as through adult learning and/or high quality learning and development activities.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and lead a high performing team and to manage staff, budgets and projects and implementing change and managing competing priorities to deliver QBCC priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative engagements and problem solve and build partnerships with other business areas and external stakeholders.
