ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the CIO, you will play a crucial role in supporting our client's investment capabilities and driving the success of their impact investing portfolio. From initial investment decisions, follow-on investments and portfolio company exits, the role will liaise with peers and Executives across both the Investment and Portfolio Management groups, to ensure resources are capable and available to support investment management activities pre-and-post investment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the investment capability discipline, proactively consulting on the broader requirements of the Investment Group with members of the Executive team including on risk and legal to ensure consistency and quality of the application of the investment process.
- Construct and operationalise the Investment Centre of Excellence (COE), including the implementation and application of a Capability Model, establishing best practices, process improvements, and effective ways of working.
- Partner closely with senior leadership to align the COE’s activities with strategic initiatives and organisational goals.
- Develop and implement ongoing people and performance management practices for investment associates.
- Provide hands-on involvement in various functions within the Investment Group as needed to support operational requirements and strategic initiatives.
- Share insights and knowledge across the Investments Group, supporting the continuous improvement of the investment process.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- A strong background in Funds Management, Equities Research, M&A, Private Equity, or Venture Capital, with a deep understanding of investment practices and industry dynamics.
- Demonstrated interest in impact investing and a passion for driving positive social and environmental change.
- Excellent analytical skills, with experience in financial modelling and valuations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
- Proven track record of managing teams encompassing individuals with varying levels of experience and skillsets, responsible for delivering complex projects and or outcomes in short time frames.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
- A Bachelor’s degree in commerce, economics, business, or a relevant discipline.
