This role will be focused on our two Melbourne based plants, a small one in the Dandenong area and our head office at Hallam.
We are involved in all aspects of plastic manufacturing including Injection, Blow and Extrusion moulding.
The machinery is a mix of new and well maintained machinery, we have a dedicated engineering and quality team and a full maintenance and tool room set up as well. Our large head office site houses all three manufacturing processes and also large distribution facilities.
Your role will work across all manufacturing and distribution functions and you will have a number of managers reporting to you including planning, supply chain, production, maintenance and engineering.
We have well established process and controls and are ISO accredited.
Your role will include oversight of manufacturing and production and include areas such as:
- Making sure production runs to budget and on time
- Ensure DIFOT targets are managed
- Running preventative maintenance and engineering projects
- Involvement in new product development, tooling trials and new machine implementation
- Improving efficiencies of operation
- Ensuring OHS compliance and a proactive safety culture
- Dealing with people issues and developing further training initiatives
- Overseeing demand planning to ensure raw material and inventory levels are optimised
- Working on Quality projects and maintaining our quality accreditations.
This is a role that works with various cultures of people and a variety of functions so your people and organisational skills will be excellent.
There is technical support for this role but ideally you will be experienced in plastics or a similar technology and be able to add value to our operation.
We have a lot of long term staff so this is a good place to work but its hard work and face paced so not a place for the timid or faint hearted.
