The University of Tasmania has partnered with the Education Centre of Australia (ECA), offering a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses to international students, in Business, Health Management and Information Technology.
We are seeking suitably qualified and experienced individuals (teaching focus) for casual Lecturer roles (Face to Face delivery) to teach units within our Bachelor of Business (BBus) and Master of Business Administration (International) (MBAI) and Master of Health and Service Management (MHSM) Courses. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high quality lecturing/tutoring to students in accordance with UTAS curricula.
- Create an engaging learning environment for students to meet learning outcomes and satisfactorily complete their assessment tasks and subjects.
- Provide feedback to students to assist in their learning and participate in moderation and finalisation of results/grades.
- Manage MyLo (UTAS’ learning management system) for your subject/s
- Identify students who are ‘at risk’ of failing a unit and assist them via the appropriate referral to Academic Lead/ Academic Skills
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions
- Provide on-going student support both face to face and online through email/ MyLo online learning management system.
- Assure the quality of the assessment and examination processes.
- Adhere to UTAS Melbourne policies and procedures
- Ensure University of Tasmania courses are delivered in compliance with all legislative and quality requirements, particularly those prescribed by the ESOS Act.
As the successful candidate, you will ideally have:
- Minimum Postgraduate level qualification/s (Master and/or PhD) in a relevant discipline
- Relevant professional and/or industry experience
- Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in teaching university level units
- Proficiency in using relevant softwares in the area of teaching
- Graduate certificate in tertiary teaching (desirable)
- Demonstrated ability to engage in research and scholarship through conference participation and publication (desirable)
- Membership with a relevant professional body is desirable.
