PACCAR is a global market leader specialising in the design, manufacture and distribution of premium heavy commercial vehicles; Kenworth and DAF, related parts, leasing and financial services via an extensive dealer network throughout Australia.

As a result of an internal promotion we are looking for our next Manager of Business Partnering.

The Manager Business Partnering, is responsible for leading and developing an HRBP team of six to deliver HR consultancy and expert advice, both operationally and strategically across the business. This role also acts as the subject matter expert in employment relations, and are responsible for best practice development and implementation of policy across the business.

This roles forms part of the Human Resources Leadership Team and reports to the Human Resources Director.

  • Build workplace relations skills and expertise across the HRBP portfolio and the business, including capabilities in understanding employment legislation, workplace relations, enterprise bargaining and the various industrial agreements that are in place
  • Lead the HRBPs in supporting and developing solutions that align with existing strategy and future people objectives
  • Oversee and monitor all operational HR matters ensuring effective and efficient resolution
  • Develop, implement and manage a workplace relations compliance framework (including dispute resolution processes and approval matrix)
  • Develop guides and supports for both HR and management in best practice Employee and Industrial Relations, including but not limited to training modules, templates, processes and scripts
  • In conjunction with Health, Safety and Wellness COE, jointly manage complex case management e.g. workplace injury claims and/or long-term absences
  • Monitor the external environment to enable the business to anticipate and respond to legislative changes, workplace trends, or test cases relating to workplace policy review
  • Undertake a review of all HR policies, work instructions, statements and the like in conjunction with responsible COE
  • Ensure employees receive adequate training on policies and procedures
  • An experienced leader, demonstrating success via a proven track record aligned with HR functions
  • You will have strong knowledge of contemporary HR practices and employment legislation
  • Incredible organisational skills with the ability to multi-task, and work to tight and competing deadlines
  • Strong ability to develop/articulate logical arguments based on facts
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching and mentoring your team and key stakeholders
  • Consistently demonstrates sound judgement and is pragmatic, adaptable, open-minded, reflective and forward thinking
  • Committed to learning and extending self and continuously seeking opportunities for different and innovative approaches to work
  • Internal customer focused - giving high priority to anticipating needs and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction
  • Proficient in accurately interpreting and applying knowledge of employment laws, regulations and industrial instruments when managing complex and sensitive matters
  • Somebody who can be onsite as collaboration is important to us – as this will be based in our office in Bayswater
