Location: Iron Bridge
Located on Nyamal country, Iron Bridge is Fortescue's pioneering magnetite operation, housing the North Star and Glacier Valley Magnetite ore bodies. As a crucial part of Fortescue's operations, Iron Bridge produces a wet concentrate product transported to Kariyarra country through a 135-kilometer specialist slurry pipeline for further processing. Iron Bridge is committed to sustainability and is poised to become one of our first fossil fuel-free sites upon integration with Pilbara renewable energy through the Pilbara Energy Connect program. With a projected output of 22mtpa of high-grade magnetite concentrate over its lifetime, Iron Bridge represents a significant milestone in Fortescue's journey.
Roster: 4 days / 3 off FIFO ex Perth
Reporting to: General Manager Operations
This role plays a pivotal role in leading a large team to ensure the safe and effective maintenance of Iron Bridge's magnetite Ore Processing Facility. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving operational excellence and contributing significantly to the success of our operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prioristing safety over all else, lead, develop and engage a high performing and diverse team
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Create strong working relationships with cross-functional teams, including engineering, technical control and production, to ensure seamless coordination and communication and optimise plant performance
- Continuously review maintenance strategies to ensure the best outcomes are achieved
- Oversee the major and minor plant shutdown process, including promoting collaborative relationships with our vendor partners
- Manage the department's budget to meet cost targets
- Degree in Engineering or related field and/or 10+ years' relevant mining experience
- Proven leadership in managing large processing operations
- Strong technical competence in mineral processing
- Unwavering demonstrated commitment to safety
- Experience overseeing large projects and commissioning works
