About the role:The role involves developing effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, closely working with the other units in Organisational Effectiveness and a range of program and policy areas within the department. The team provides service across the department and works particularly closely with Health Funding, Finance
and Insights and eHealth (as well as all other divisions) to obtain data and to develop data insights.The role also requires proactively identifying areas in the business for analysis, develop recommendations and present recommendations to executives, and improving the data collection systems to support business and policy needs of the department.The successful applicant will demonstrate sound leadership and people management skills, as well as an ability to influence others to maximise efficiency and effectiveness of the department and thereby the Victorian health sector, improving outcomes for Victorians.

Organisational Capability and Insights will provide leadership and guidance based on advanced expertise and deliver a service to internal customers that supports them to understand their business data
and Insights. The Manager is also responsible for developing capability uplift across the Department for data usage.The
Organisational Capability and Insights team identifies opportunities for combining organisational data in a way that provides fresh insights into organisational challenges and opportunities, and for providing these insights in an accessible way for a range of audiences and uses.The team undertakes complex analysis and visualisation of People, Operations, Legal and Regulation division performance data and leads the implementation of the data
and Insights strategy for the division.Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate:Effectively supervise and provide leadership to a team of employees by:

- Lead the team to develop, implement, and promote business intelligence projects and practices within the People, Operations, Legal and Regulation division and more widely across the department.
- Deliver timely, accurate and high-quality data products and reports and provide expert advice on the quality, accuracy and relevance of related data.
- Support the development and ongoing enhancement of relevant service level agreements and performance metrics.
- Use a range of tools (including PowerBI) to prepare detailed reports/visualisation, tailored to audience need, on the overall performance of the department's enabling functions, and present information to executive management.
- Oversee, monitor and deliver projects on time, budget and to quality standards, ensuring they are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation and government regulations and guidelines.
- Identify emerging issues, risk and trends impacting on the successful achievement of key business objectives and imperatives and provide timely, high quality business intelligence and sound recommendations based on comprehensive analysis to relevant stakeholders.
- Provide leadership, guidance and authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders.
- Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
- Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
