International Department is advertising for a manager role in the International Policy & Engagement (IPE) section. In this role you would manage the Bank's engagement with Pacific Island central banks and the delivery of Technical Assistance.
The role:
You will be responsible for building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support the RBA's engagement in the Pacific Islands region. This will involve developing expertise on issues facing Pacific Island economies. You will also manage the ad hoc and ongoing programs of Technical Assistance the RBA provides to other central banks. Leading and developing analysts to achieve goals and deliver outcomes is another aspect of the role.
You will contribute to the running of the section and department. ​​​​​Travel may be required and there is also a potential requirement to occasionally work irregular hours, owing to the international aspect of this role. The successful applicant will need to apply for an NV1 security clearance.
Your Background:

We are looking for a thoughtful leader with strong analytical, communication and organisational skills. Given the nature of the work in IPE, you will ideally have:

• an interest in the Pacific and in providing Technical Assistance to the Pacific and other countries.
• demonstrated ability to judge what issues are most important and to guide others on how best to navigate sensitive situations and complex analytical questions
• demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to build and strengthen relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• experience leading, guiding and developing individuals to effectively achieve outcomes
• demonstrated people leadership and influencing skills, and the ability to collaborate on work to produce the best outcomes for the Bank.
• relevant tertiary qualifications economics, finance, or international relations, or equivalent experience.
