About the role
This role will be responsible for analysing data to deliver key business insights and impact assessments as a part of business solution design or an issue investigation. The person in this role will have to work with stakeholders across business, operations, compliance, legal, risk and IT team.
The person in this role will help the bank in realising its vision of “Excellent Customer Focus” and “Rock Solid Bank” by playing a critical role in designing business solutions and investigating regulatory and operational issues identified through regular course of business and sophisticated data analysis.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Gain an in-depth understanding of systems, data flows and product, customer and transaction data objects stored across data stores for Country Banking, Rabobank Online Savings and Wholesale business lines.
- Identify system and corresponding data objects to be analysed for deriving business insights in relation to a business change or for investigating a specific business issue
- Use exploratory and statistical data analysis techniques to analyse large volumes of Data and derive key insights to support business decision making.
- Conduct impact assessment as a part of investigating potential regulatory breaches and business issues.
- Hold workshops to enable and advocate for data quality and data definitions.
- Visualisation and story boarding of results from data analysis and exploration.
- Contribute towards writing papers for the executive committee and regulatory responses.
- Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in data science, information systems or any equivalent engineering discipline
- Experience in a financial services environment
- Experience in a data analyst role within the business
- Experience of working and presenting to senior stakeholders
- General understanding of regulatory environment in Australia and regulatory requirements from ASIC, APRA and AUSTRAC
- Practical knowledge data analysis tools such as Python, SQL, Excel, etc.
- Practical knowledge of visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, etc.
- General understanding of business analysis techniques and methods such as DMAIC
- Practical understanding of Database, Datawarehouse and Data Management concepts
- Good understanding of DMBOK, Source to Target and Data Transformations
- Competent in use of ETL tools such as Informatics, SSIS, for data extraction, transformation and analysis etc.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills – able to identify an audience’s needs and clearly present concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and relationship management skills; an ability to interact at multiple levels
