Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Lead key components of transport infrastructure Project Evaluations, including strategic reviews, financial, commercial, economic, legal and governance project activities for Strategic Assessment of Service Requirements (SASR), Preliminary Evaluations (PE), Business Cases (BC) and other special projects.
- Lead the development of transport infrastructure Project Evaluations, including developing terms of reference, briefs to arrange for the selection and engagement of consultants, project monitoring, project reporting, report preparation and project approval processes.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships to liaise with key stakeholders (regional TMR project teams, central agencies, the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Cities and the Arts (DITRDCA), Infrastructure Australia, local governments, non-government organizations, the private sector and clients) on a range of key issues relating to transport infrastructure, and provide advice in relation to the state's major project proposals.
- Develop high-level submissions and communicate complex ideas to senior management and key stakeholders, as part of undertaking drafting and preparation of departmental documents, such as Cabinet submissions, Ministerial and departmental briefs and policy and research papers; and providing regular advice to senior and executive management on the progress of major projects through the Project Assurance Framework (PAF) to gain relevant government approvals.
- Lead the advisory of Whole of Government evaluation frameworks and requirements, including TMRs' On-Q framework, the Queensland Government's PAF and Business Case Development Framework and Australian Government requirements, including the Infrastructure Australia Assessment Framework and the Australian Transport Assessment and Planning (ATAP) Guidelines, to deliver robust major Project Evaluations.
- Actively participate in all elements of working in a team environment to ensure goals are met and productivity targets are achieved. This includes coaching and mentoring others in the Project Evaluation Unit to support capability development, staff motivation and delivery of quality advice and service. This role has HR delegations and requires management of staff.
