The Strategic Asset Management Team within the Infrastructure Services Division is seeking a Manager, to lead a team responsible for delivering key educational priority actions. We are seeking a strategic, driven, collaborative individual who embraces change and strives for continuous improvement.
About Us:
The Department of Education oversees a diverse and widespread asset portfolio comprising over 1,400 schools and early education assets. The Department has released ‘Equity and Excellence', a vision for a progressive, high performing education system realising the potential of every student. To enable this vision, ISD has compiled a 10-year - Infrastructure plan ‘Infrastructure for Learning'.
The Manager will lead the Strategic Asset Management team to improve Strategic Asset Management and capability across the division, develop a proactive, data-driven Strategic Asset Management approach and build awareness of best practice Asset Management, in line with these strategic objectives.
About the Role:
This leadership role is integral to support the Department in delivering its strategic directives and continuing to raise the capability and awareness of Asset Management practices and continue to build a high performing, collaborative team.
Work highlights include:
- Lead the team to improve Asset Management practices and capability across the Department in line with the ISO 55000 suite of standards.
- Participate as an integral member of an agile project team to deliver accessible asset data, analytics and reporting and improve technology solutions to support Strategic Asset Management decision making.
- Lead core work streams including the delivery of a Strategic Asset Management Plan and Policy, Asset Management Plans, Maintenance Plans and the development of an Asset Management system including RACI.
- Develop and lead core workstreams including asset risk management strategy, asset related KPIs, and Asset Lifecycle Condition Assessments.
- Lead business process reviews and guide continual improvement of the Asset Management resource library.
- Develop and execute communication strategies to build awareness and knowledge of best practice Asset Management across the Department.
- Develop and implement an Asset Management training program for centralised and decentralised teams.
- Support the Director Portfolio Planning and Senior Project Manager to achieve multiyear funding, to support the planning and delivery of infrastructure renewal projects.
- Continue to build a high performing team who are aligned to strategic objectives.
- Lead a collaborative team culture and emphasise learning and development.
