- Lead a diverse team that encompasses strategy, intelligence, planning and systems capabilities to enable the success of National Fire Ant Eradication Program (NFAEP) eradicating the Red Imported Fire Ant from Australia by 2032.
- Develop NFAEP's approach to strategy including developing key guiding documents to achieve the strategic direction established by the National Management Group and NFAEP Program Board.
- Design, develop and implement a methodology to identify, assess and analyse challenges or problems impacting NFAEP's success and recommend suitable strategies to secure positive outcomes.
- Develop processes to ensure key strategic guidance documents such as annual work plans, individual stream strategies, and other key strategic documents are developed and published on time and in line with key NFAEP milestones.
- Establish and maintain internal and external networks that support and extend the influence of NFAEP and achievement of its goal of eradicating fire ants from Australia.
- Lead and manage the team in accordance with policy and legislative requirements and in a manner that promotes ongoing personal and organisational improvement.
- Model professional and ethical behaviour to achieve and encourage best practice to enhance Biosecurity Queensland's reputation.
- Support the development, maintenance and ongoing improvement of compliance and investigations capability across Biosecurity Queensland.
- Ensure professionalism in responses to members of the public, the media, government officials and or industry, recognising your role as an ambassador of the NFAEP.
- Demonstrate organisational agility by undertaking duties that support the broader functions of Biosecurity Queensland and Department of Agriculture and Fisheries when required.
- Assist with corporate reporting and planning as required.
