This is a recruitment pool for a Fixed Term Full-Time Appointment with the possibility of extension while the substantive occupant is on a period of Parental Leave. 

The role is presently being considered for re-classification into a higher salary grade. Applicants will be informed of outcome during the recruitment process.

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 30 September 2026.

About this role

Position Profile: This position provides leadership and strategic management of key Women’s Health Public Health Issues,as the Head of the Women’s Health Strategy and Programs (WHSP) Unit in WNHS. You will provide overarching governance and management for WHSP’s financial, human, infrastructure/material, and information resources in key consultation with WNHS Executive Team and Clinical Leads. You will represent and provide advice to Department of Health, Health Service Providers and other Government and Non-Government agencies on policies, election commitments and other initiatives. As Manager, you will undertake other strategic leadership and management roles and responsibilities to improve women’s health and wellbeing in Western Australia, and liaise and collaborate with state networks and national stakeholders promoting women’s health strategies and services.

Area Profile

This role works out of a corporate office in 675 Murray Street, West Perth and travels to KEMH as required.

King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH) is the State's only tertiary maternity and gynaecological hospital and treated its first patients in 1916. Today more than 6000 births take place at the hospital every year and it is WA's only major referral centre for high-risk pregnancies. KEMH also has a state-of-the-art Special Care Nursery, designed to care for premature and sick infants.

KEMH also cares for approximately 5000 women with gynaecological conditions each year - from urological and cancer related problems to sexually transmitted diseases and reproductive disorders.
