We have an opportunity to join the Nursing and Midwifery Education team as a Clinical Support Nurse with our Medical/Surgical program, at Monash Health. This leadership position, will assist in the development and facilitation of education, training and support to all nursing staff.
- Clinical bedside education focus
- Fixed term part-time (Parental leave until March 2025)
- Rotating shifts, 7 days /week
A Day in the Life
An exciting opportunity exists for a nurse with extensive clinical experience, to join the NaMES team as a Clinical Support Nurse (CSN). We require a highly skilled clinician with a passion for education who will be responsible for providing clinical and educational support to nursing staff across Monash Health, with a particular focus on the nursing workforce in our Medical/Surgical wards at Monash Medical Centre (MMC).
Some of the specific accountabilities will include:
- Clinical bedside support to all nurses
- Demonstrating and promoting best practice standards
- The ability to create learning opportunities for staff through empowering education
- Helping to ensure that through a highly skilled and educated workforce our patients receive safe and high-quality care
- Effective communication and escalation
This role is embedded in our collaborative and supportive nursing and midwifery education team who work closely with our Nurse Managers and nursing teams across wards in the medical-surgical program.
About You
Working closely with key stakeholders you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience, and knowledge:
- Recent relevant clinical experience in medical surgical nursing
- Completion of postgraduate qualifications in nursing, or working towards
- Excellent communication skills
- A sound understanding of clinical supervision, clinical assessment and advanced clinical practice
