The role:
We are seeking an experienced Marine Engineer to join our Marine and Offshore team in either our Adelaide or Sydney office. The team comprises a multidisciplinary group of Marine, Platform and Combat Systems Engineers and Naval Architects. They provide specialized expertise in these disciplines, developing and applying the Australian Naval Classification ruleset to support the seaworthiness of Defence Naval Vessels.
You will contribute to the development of Naval Classification Rules and applying the new Naval Classification Framework.
Reporting to the Senior Engineer, this role will contribute to technical projects and support the engineering team in delivering high-quality solutions.
This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem solving.
Your day to day will include but is not limited to:
- Assist in conducting engineering assessments and analyses to support project objectives
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop engineering solutions
- Reviewing engineering documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
- Support the implementation of engineering policies and procedures
- Contribution to the development of technical reports and documentation as required
- Assist in troubleshooting technical issues
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working
What’s needed?
To be successful in this role you will need to possess the following:
- Baseline Security Clearance (mandatory)
- 5 – 6 years’ experience in engineering design, analysis, and project management within the maritime defence environment (mandatory)
- Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and requirements within maritime defence environment including BV, LR and DNV GL
- Bachelor of Engineering
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
