As Materials Planner you will be responsible for ensuring all raw materials supply are meeting stock levels forecasts and are available to meet production deadlines. This is critical in ensuring production occurs in an efficient manner, to satisfy client requirements.
More responsibilities include;
- Undertake proactive analysis and stock-take to achieve stock minimum goals, and meet stock outage KPIs,
- Identify inventory reduction opportunities
- Proactively participate in prevention planning for material shortages
- Following up on order reports to all relevant vendors
- Review MRP requirements and action accordingly
- Expedite orders as required
- Plan and forecast for future requirements,
- Ensure critical parts are meeting minimum levels
- Must have at least 3-5 years materials management experience
- Must be available and willing to work the afternoon shift
- Manufacturing is essential
- Proven ability to solve and action stock outages or delivery problems as they arise
- Communication skills
- Analytical capacity
- Attention to detail
- Understanding of the QAD would be highly regarded
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors, production personnel and all other stakeholders.
