Description Closing date 28th March 2024 Primary role Early Childhood Teacher (Maternity Leave) Position type Temporary contract – August-December About the Centre/Service: Somerville Kindergarten is a non-profit community based sessional kinder operated by a Committee of Management. Our kindergarten provides educational programs for both 3- and 4-year-olds, and utilises the nearby school facilities to enhance and extend our learning environment. Our curriculum at Somerville Kindergarten is emergent and play based developed around the children’s interests and developmental needs. We welcome input from children’s families and the local community and offer a safe, warm and nurturing environment where families feel supported and children can thrive. Our staff work within the guidelines of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework, the National Quality Standards and have a firm understanding of the Child Safety Standards.
Qualifications This is a Maternity Leave teaching position Hours of Work of the Role 22.5 hours per week (15 contact hours/7.5 non-contact) Teaching days, Monday & Wednesday 8am-4.30pm plus 5.5 hours planning (times to be negotiated). Description We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher to join our team in delivering a high quality, play based 4-year-old kinder program throughout term 3 & 4 in 2024. Strong, confident communication skills are essential in this role. A working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Framework and Child Safety Standards is required. You will be required to plan and teach our Ladybugs group as well as liaise and work as part of our teaching team. Qualifications Bachelor of Early Childhood Education Requirements VIT Registration Additional Requirements First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma training.
