Calling all Junior Mathematics/Science educators! Tradewind has partnered with an F-9 school in Point Cook in Melbourne's West, to teach Mathematics and Science to students in years 7-9. This full-time position starts in Term 2, with the opportunity for school tours. Join an International Baccalaureate school committed to delivering outstanding education to students.Key duties:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Maths and Science curriculum aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, covering various topics such as algebra, geometry, calculus, biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science.
- Create engaging and differentiated lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, incorporating hands-on experiments, problem-solving activities, and inquiry-based investigations to enhance students' understanding and mastery of mathematical and scientific concepts.
- Design and administer assessments, tests, and experiments to evaluate students' understanding and provide constructive feedback and support to help students improve their academic performance.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Maths and Science departments and across other subject areas to create interdisciplinary projects, thematic units, and cross-curricular connections.
- Engage in continuous professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in Maths and Science education.
- Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Must have VIT registration
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching secondary Mathematics and Science
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
- Commencing Term 2, on a full-time, fixed term contract with ongoing possibilities
- Guiding students in grades 7-9 within a supportive teaching team
- Collaborating with accessible and transparent leadership
