Key Responsibilities:
Stock Management: Oversee inventory levels, developing a good understanding of our meat sales to ensure your ordering adequate stock for daily operations while minimizing waste and maximising sales.
Implement efficient storage and rotation practices to maintain freshness and reduce waste.
Meat Selection and Ordering: Source high-quality meats from our trusted suppliers. Utilize your expertise to inspect, grade, and select meats for freshness and quality.
Working with suppliers to provide best pricing and promotional activity to maintain a compelling offer to our customers.
Sourcing new suppliers and working with existing suppliers to maintain and grow our extensive range.
Customer Service Excellence: Provide unparalleled service to our customers by offering expert advice on meat selection, preparation, and cooking techniques. Strive to exceed customer expectations and build lasting relationships.
Compliance and Safety: Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and industry standards. Conduct regular inspections and ensure that all equipment and facilities meet hygiene and sanitation requirements.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a meat department or butcher shop environment, with a strong understanding of meat cuts, processing techniques, and food safety protocols.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for providing outstanding customer service.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
