Appointment Pool

Workforce Supply, Mobility and Reform is seeking to establish a pool of Customer Service Officers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2024 and up to the end of June 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within 2024, up to the end of June 2025.

The Role and our Branch

The Customer Service Officer provides administrative support for staff attraction and retention programs, including maintaining records and databases, correspondence management and the preparation of resources. You will manage customer enquiries from applicants, employees, principals/line managers and other stakeholders by providing advice and information on staff recruitment and employment matters, including eligibility, assessment of qualifications, salaries and benefits.

Suitable applicants will develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders that promote staff attraction and retention programs and the directorate’s recruitment and employment services. You will assess teacher eligibility, qualifications and requests for recognition of prior service to determine commencement salary.

3. Demonstrated well developed skills in data management, statistical analysis and in presenting and reporting of data and other information.

Eligibility and Training Requirements

Employees will be required to:

  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter.
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
