Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Draftsperson proficient in using Autodesk Inventor. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong background in plant equipment drafting and/or die tooling.
Qualifications & experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Draftsperson or similar role.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor for 3D modeling and drawing creation.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with Australian Standards (AS) for mechanical engineering drawings.
- Experience in plant equipment drafting and/or die tooling is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Autodesk Vault Professional or similar Product Data Management (PDM) software is a highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and documentation.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to interpret and convey technical information.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Create detailed drawings and models of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using Autodesk Inventor and occasionally AutoCAD.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to understand project requirements, specifications, and design intent.
- Interpret sketches, diagrams, and other instructions to produce accurate technical drawings.
- Utilize industry standards and best practices in drafting and documentation.
- Maintain and update drawings and models to reflect design changes and revisions.
- Ensure all drawings are accurate, clear, and comply with company standards.
- Experience with Autodesk Vault Professional for data management and version control is advantageous.
- Utilise Australian Standards (AS) relevant to mechanical engineering, such as AS 1100 series, to ensure drawings comply with industry standards.
