About the role
Our role offers a unique opportunity to continually develop your career, and to see your engineering designs become a reality in our adjacent fabrication workshop. AMM is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Mechanical Draftsperson to join our team. This full-time permanent position is based residentially in Emerald – Central Queensland.
Qualifications & Experience
- Cert III in Engineering and Drafting (or similar)
- Proficient with technical drawing programs and 3D modelling (eg Inventor 2023 or similar)
- Min 4 years mechanical design drafting experience in a workshop environment, incl. structural steel weldments and sheet metal development
- Familiarisation with relevant Australian Standards including Structural Steel, Handrails & Access platforms
- Experience with 3D scanning and post processing preferred
Design drafts people with a trade background or other tertiary qualification in industrial design or Engineering are also encouraged to apply
Skills
- Have a general knowledge of the fabrication and welding process
- Ability to think creatively and engineer solutions for any problem that may arise in day-to-day operations
- Drive for success, and be proactive to improve on current processes and product lines
- Able to multi-task on different projects at once
