About the Role
The JBS Northern Engineering Team is currently recruiting an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join the business. Reporting to the Divisional Engineer - Northern, with a prioritised focus on sustainability the Mechanical Engineer will manage nominated capital projects including initiation, design and cost estimation, preparation of submissions for approval, project implementation, cost monitoring and control, commissioning, documentation, final handover and auditing of achieved savings and gains. The Mechanical Engineer will also take a proactive role in working with the corporate and site environmental teams and engineers to establish measures by which sustainability can be compared across sites to develop and implement projects to achieve sustainability targets.
This role has the responsibility to develop the Business Unit Roadmap of portfolio projects containing detailed scopes, cost estimations and benefit analysis that can be audited at the time of implementation. Upon approval of said projects, the role is responsible to ensure the implementation of works to specification, on time and within budget and assist the Divisional Engineer to ensure the ongoing capability and improvement of processing plant operations, utilising teams of contractors and external service providers, ensuring safety, cost, compliance, planning, reporting and plant improvement outcomes are achieved.
About You
- Demonstrated experience in people supervision or management with proven ability to lead, manage and motivate staff
- Previous experience in project management in a fast moving food manufacturing environment
- Understanding of project work planning and scheduling procedures
- Regular travel to sites across QLD and NSW
- Experience in estimating, tendering and supervision of sub-contractors
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective problem solving capacity
