Mechanical Engineer
Have the ability to stretch your experience and be involved in the whole process on project to project. Working on precision gadgets with your Mechanical, Electical or Mechatronic engineering
Background in working with cryogenics or Vaccum technology would ideal. Any previous experience in precision engineering with telescopy and optics would desirable and advantageous.

The role:
We are currently seeking long-term contracting opportunities for degree qualified Mechanical Engineers to lead innovative projects, regularly work along side other teams to overcome any engineering challenges and delivered on time.
Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, you will:
- Develop concepts and produce mechanical designs for mechanism projects.
- Provide presentations as well as summarise for project proposals, including analysis and tests.
- Produce instruction and maintenance manuals for the operation of instruments.
- Come up with assembly and test plans for review and approval of mechanical and optical components and instruments.
- Support and mentor junior engineers as well as regularly collaborate with other teams to overcome project challenges.
About you:
As a degree qualified engineer in either Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering, you will demonstrate your ability to work with micro instruments and have a strong background working with optics and have experience in precision engineering.
You will have a desire to come up with others and develop concepts and bring them to fruition and perform structural, kinetical, vibration and thermal analyses.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical or mechatronic engineering
- Experience designing Autodesk Inventor or similar software
- Strong background in FEA and thermal analysis
- Have previously worked assembly and testing of prototype mechanical parts
- Strong Communication skills written and verbal
Desirable:
- Experience working with Optics, cryogenics or Vacuum technology
- Previous telescopy technology would be advantageous
