Role Overview:
As a Mechanical Engineer in the Modernisation of Maritime Electronic Warfare (MMEW) project, you will play a pivotal role in the development, integration, and maintenance of cutting-edge electronic warfare capabilities. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of onboard IT infrastructure crucial for communication, navigation, and operational systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Utilize advanced 3D modelling tools such as CREO simulation CAD software to craft detailed designs for equipment and components. Lead the design and development of server racks essential for the safe and efficient operation of onboard IT systems.
- Research and Innovation: Collaborate with diverse stakeholders to explore, design, and develop bespoke solutions tailored to meet project requirements. Drive research initiatives aimed at enhancing existing products and pioneering new technologies to elevate maritime electronic warfare capabilities.
- Prototype Development: Utilize 3D modelling tools to create prototypes and design for manufacturing, ensuring alignment with project specifications and industry standards.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software, particularly CREO simulation (desirable), for 3D modelling and simulation.
- Experience in equipment and component design, preferably within a maritime or defence context.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a proven track record of working effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Contract Duration: 12 months with potential for extension based on project requirements.
- Work Arrangement: This role requires 100% onsite presence with no remote working option available.
