Role & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, you will be a part of a dynamic and motivated Engineering team. The Mechanical Engineering Coordinator will be responsible for the safety, compliance and performance of a set range of assets. It is desirable but not mandatory that the applicant will have experience managing plant and equipment associated with an underground coal mining operation.
This includes:
- Coordinate routine inspections and maintenance and periodical Overhauls.
- Identify opportunities and deliver technical solutions to ensure mine critical assets meet targets.
- Maintain compliance with legislative requirements.
- Encourage continuous improvement initiatives across site.
- Effectively manage contractors and coordinate additional labour as required.

Qualifications & Experience
To be the successful candidate you are required to meet the following criteria:
- Relevant mechanical trade qualifications in compliance with legislation to work as a tradesperson in an NSW coal operation.
- Tertiary qualifications at minimum diploma level in engineering or equivalent qualifications is desirable.
- Strong understanding of both surface and underground mining machinery.
- Experience in working in accordance with compliance and quality standards.
- Ability to respond to changing work demands and environments.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate, influence and communicate both verbally and in writing at all levels with internal and external stakeholders.
- Substantial leadership skills and experience with a focus on leading a team in a high performance environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of mining legislation, industry standards, contractor management and risk management.
- Contribute to the forecasting and scheduling of maintenance plans and projects.
- Cert IV fluid power (desirable).
- Cert IV trainer / assessor (desirable).
- G2 risk management (desirable).
- Cert IV Frontline Management (desirable).
