About The Role
Reporting into the Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Engineering Manager will support our Underground Mining Operations by implementing and maintaining the Mechanical Engineering Management Plan covering the complete life cycle management of all site plant and equipment, in accordance with legislative and Statutory OH&S requirements.
The successful incumbent can choose to work in one of the two ways mentioned below:
Option 1: DIDO + Accommodation or Residential with Relocation Assistance working a 9-day fortnight.
Option 2: FIFO + Accommodation from Wollongong Airport or Newcastle Airport working a 5 day week.
What You'll Do
React and complete assigned actions in the formal Action Register for the Mine where tasks are identified
Develop the Mechanical Engineering Management Plan and undertake long and short-term Mechanical Engineering planning in line with mine planning as well as industry standards and best practice.
Monitor compliance with organisational and statutory standards in Mechanical Engineering.
Monitor maintenance work is carried out in a timely manner, with minimal disruption to production, and in a cost-effective manner in respect of materials and resources.
Establish and implement a best practice maintenance management system including structural integrity audits, Spares Criticality Assessment of the System, PDCA cycle and other maintenance standards, to minimise surplus equipment disposal.
Manage the major mechanical risks associated with coal clearance, development and longwall equipment, maximising productivity and ensuring unsafe conditions do not occur.
