The construction of a brand-new, purpose-built workshop for major mining equipment projects is nearing completion at Alfabs in Kurri Kurri, NSW. The workshop, complete with cranage and new management, and is ready for action!
We are looking for a Mechanical Manager to partner with the Electrical Manager to be responsible for the mechanical requirements of projects and site works for Alfabs Mining. We are interested in hearing from candidates looking for an immediate start.
Alfabs Mining is based in Kurri Kurri, 15 minutes straight through from Cameron Park or 30 minutes to Raymond Terrace, Singleton or Warners Bay. Not only can you significantly reduce your drive time, you will also be working on interesting projects including Waracars, OnTrack Feeder Breakers and Joy Global Continuous Miners.

What do we need from you?
Number one: you have to be safety-conscious. While we are looking out for your safety, you need to help look out for the safety of those around you.
Require at least 2 years’ experience overhauling continuous miners and/or feeder breakers and shuttle cars.
This is the perfect role for someone looking for ownership in their role, you can have genuine impact on systems, processes and deliverables in this role. As well as being responsible for the mechanical project requirements you will also:
- Manage overhaul and post-hire mechanical repair scopes of major projects
- Schedule projects in conjunction with rebuild scopes and the Mining team
- Develop accurate costings and budgets for all mechanical scopes
- Perform and schedule performance checks, machine condition assessments and maintenance inspections
And all the usuals: relevant trade qualifications, recent experience working on underground mining equipment or similar, car licence and the ability to pass drug and alcohol testing for pre-employment and throughout your employment.
