Our Opportunity
Work location: Perth based (525 Great Eastern Highway)
Roster: Monday to Friday
In support of Fortescue’s strong focus on green energy and our carbon neutrality targets, one of our key initiatives will be in our Green Fleet projects whereby we will develop and test a range of technologies to power our mining fleet
Key Responsibilities
- Working in collaboration with the broader Engineering team as well as the project management and workshop execution teams
- Capable of prioritizing and delivering work in a fast-moving environment
- Ability to adjust to change quickly and adapt to new requirements
- Proactively deliver on the company’s stretch targets
- Develop technical specifications to meet project specific objectives.
- Interpret engineering drawings, documents, specifications and scopes.
- Resolution of technical and design issues.
- Ensure compliance to the project management process by project owners
- Provide guidance regarding project budget, cash flow and schedule for existing and future projects
- Liaising with a range of key stakeholders on all technical aspects of projects
- Providing regular updates with the Mechanical Principal Engineer
Qualifications and Experience
- Engineering or Science degree
- Established post-qualification experience and accreditation in product development and industrial roles.
- Very high attention to engineering details
- Ability to demonstrate technical skills on expert level by scrutinising technical outputs ad returning constructive feedback for improvement.
- Numerical analysis
- Product development tools and processes.
- Standards and technical governance, or other engineering fields.
- Contribute to writing processes and standards.
- Mentor junior engineers.
- Experience with 3D cad and concept level packaging.
- Project experience advantageous
- Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders and in multidiscipline teams.
- High commitment to safety
- Excellent interpersonal awareness with ability to work well in a team.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with a drive for excellence
- Results driven, responsible and accountable
- Skilled in problem solving rapidly
