About the role
Enersol is seeking an enthusiastic Mechatronics Engineer, to drive design and development outcomes under the leadership of the Head of Product Realisation and management team.
This role is part of a nimble team of Engineers and technical experts and will be working with cross-functional teams to achieve Enersol's vision and objectives.
Responsibilities include:
- Product development, design, optimisation and innovation, including research, DOE, prototyping, validation, and related development processes following Enersol's development framework.
- Develop documented instructions to be utilised by Enersol's manufacturing team for the production of realiable and high-quality products for sale.
- Take part in special projects and R&D under the leadership of the Head of Product Realisation.
- Develop product information such as data sheets and catalogues, user operation manuals, servicing and training manuals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical and software engineers and laboratory, manufacturing and servicing personnel.
- Liaise with customers to gain feedback and provide technical support.
- There may be opportunities to travel internationally to perform services at customer sites.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience required
The ideal candidate for this role is a qualified mechatronic engineer with a degree, and a background in product development and customer support in a similar environment that is willing to be hands-on.
Specific skills, knowledge and experience are as follows:
- Qualifications and practical knowledge and experience in mechatronic engineering.
- Proven track record working with quality systems, assembly and R&D procedures and policies.
- An understanding of ISO and similar standards, specifications, validation, measurement uncertainty and quality testing of equipment.
- Appropriate style of verbal and written communication.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in relevant systems and tools, including CAD, STM32 and real-time systems, Arduino and related development tools.
- Practical experience assembling, quality checking, calibrating, validation and risk assessing the products designed, including the skilled use of hand tools with high attention to detail.
- Awareness of relevant work health and safety legislation and requirements which relate to Enersol.
Desirable skills, knowledge and experience include:
- Some experience and understanding innovative and additive manufacturing in prototyping and production.
- Some experience working in an environment undertaking the R&D incentive program and understanding the requirements.
- Some knowledge and experience of CE mark requirements and USFDA CFR 21 Part 11 software requirements.
- Some experience working in environments utilising LEAN, SIX-SIGMA and similar methodologies.

- You have at least 2 years of experience working as a mechatronic engineer.

- Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment and also working autonomously.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- For the right candidate with hands-on capabilities to service or repair Enersol equipment, you have the ability to travel if the opportunity arises (nationally or internationally), with trips lasting a few days and possibly up to 3 weeks (on rare occasions), with the total number of trip opportunities occurring no more than a few times per year.
