- Identify and drive the media across 30+ programs and initiatives.
- Craft compelling stories that resonate with our audience.
- Develop and distribute engaging content to Media and key stakeholders.
- Support internal communications.
- Build and nurture relationships with key media contacts and our not-for-profit and government partners.
- Drive strategic communications efforts to elevate our brand.
- Periodic travel amongst our footprint for media opportunities.
- Work flexibly with office options in Lismore, Tweed Heads, or consideration for the Central Coast.
We are looking for a passionate individual with a desire to make a difference. The successful candidate will have:
- Exceptional mainstream media experience.
- Tertiary qualifications in journalism and/or communications.
- Exceptional storytelling skills, ideally with experience working for online news sites, radio and/or television – or in corporate/government communications.
- Proficiency in pitching stories, cultivating relationships with journalists, shaping media releases, and writing for different channels.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation abilities.
- Excellent grammar skills.
- Highly organised, deadline-oriented, and adept at multitasking.
Desirable criteria
- Experience in both journalism and government communications.
- Established relationships with media contacts in Northern NSW and/or other regions in our footprint.
- Multimedia skills – the ability to edit sound and videos and create online videos with heart.
