The role:
An exciting, rare opportunity has opened in our Hospital and Medical Claims team for a Medical Claims Officer. You will assess Medical Claims lodged for payment by medical providers on behalf of our members in a prompt, accurate and efficient manner.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Maintain a high standard of claims assessment through accurate, efficient and timely processing of Medical Claims.
- Review and pay Medical Claims in accordance with Fund Rules and policies
- Perform Medical Claims adjustments and initiate follow up/recovery action as required
- Action reports and perform quality review processes as required
- Proactively respond to enquiries from Medicare Australia and providers
- Contribute to the effective operations of the assessing team.
- Actively participate as a member of the Hospital and Medical Claims team.
- Effectively use your own work time and work resources.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of our products, policies, and procedures
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date assessing knowledge
- Liaise with medical providers
- Champion our organisational values
To be successful, we are looking for someone with:
- Computer literacy. Experience with private health administration software inc HAMBs, WHICs, ECLIPSE or similar processing system will be highly regarded.
- Knowledge of medical terminology (Desirable)
- Experience in Medical Administration (Desirable)
- Experience in Health insurance industry (Desirable)
