THE OPPORTUNITY
Karora Resources is currently seeking Medical Emergency Services Officers for our Beta Hunt Underground Mine in Kambalda & Higginsville Gold Operations in Norseman.
- First response to all emergency, medical and security incidents on site for employees and contractors to the Higginsville Operations including providing Emergency Services to surrounding local communities as required
- Be available in an on-call / after-hours capacity, whilst on-shift
- Assist the Emergency Services Coordinator with preparation and training of the ERT Team. Building the Karora workforce ERT capability through delivery of appropriate emergency response training
- Support OHS operations to work to the appropriate KRR standards, systems, processes, and critical controls for OHS risks
- Conduct workplace inspections and audits as required (Emergency Response equipment, work processes and workforce compliance with site procedures)
- Facilitate and maintain training databases (InControl & InTuition) for Emergency Response capabilities for site including equipment requirements, procedures, and training of personnel
- Ordering and stock control of medical equipment, medications, and consumables
- Check & monitor emergency response equipment to ensure it’s in a state of preparedness & readiness
ABOUT YOU
- Current “C” Class Western Australian driver’s licence and minimum MR licence or willing to work towards
- Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in an Emergency Services role (in an underground environment, on-call 24 hours)
- Experience providing health care or prehospital care with current Certificate IV in Health Care Qualification
- Qualifications in Mine Emergency Response & Rescue or equivalent
- Experience in Fire & Rescue, Ambulance or Safety & Training will be highly regarded
- Underground Mines Rescue & BG4 qualifications
- Interpretation and comprehension of OHS legislation and regulations
- Desire to maintain a proactive safe working environment
- A can-do, team-oriented attitude
- Intermediate computer skills & literacy, particularly across the MS Office suite
- Solid problem-solving skills, with the ability to think on your feet and be adaptable
- Excellent communication skills
