AddressThis position is for a Medical Receptionist (casual with the possibility of becoming permanent) to work in Dr Tamer Mettyas' practice. The role offers a friendly & enjoyable work environment.
Dr Mettyas is an upper limb Orthopaedic surgeon who values and appreciates the role his reception staff play in his practice.
About the Role:
The position offers around 22 hours weekly Monday-Friday. (Mainly Monday, Wednesday & Friday).
The three days worked during the week will be split: one or two days onsite and one or two days working from home.
Onsite days are clinic days in the rooms: One working day (8 hours on Mondays) at Greenslopes Private Hospital or Brisbane Private Hospital and half a day (4-5 hours on Fridays) at North West Private Hospital.
Wednesday will be worked remotely from home.
Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
- Greeting patients and answering the phone promptly and courteously
- Managing the diary and appointment bookings
- Managing patient billing and receipting for consultations
- Managing surgery bookings and billings, in conjunction with the Practice Manager
- Involvement in the daily running of the rooms and reporting directly to the Practice Manager / reception coordinator
- Email correspondence
Start: From 1-7-2024
Remuneration will be based on experience and there is the opportunity for increase in line with competency.
An hourly rate between $32 - $36 p/hour + super will be offered to a suitably experienced applicant (depending on recent and relevant skills/experience).
Skills and experience
The following are required for the position:
- Strong work ethic and good understanding of patient confidentiality
- A desire to work as part of a team with excellent communication skills
- Excellent customer service and ability to prioritise tasks
- Experience using Genie or Gentu software
- Previous experience (at least 12 months) working as a Medical Receptionist (preferably within a private specialist practice)
- Computer skills across Microsoft office
- A sound knowledge of Medicare, DVA, WorkCover and Private Health Fund billing
