About the Role
Our Orthopaedic Clinic in Stepney is offering exciting opportunity for a full-time, permanent experienced Medical Receptionist, also known as a Practice Relief Officer. This dynamic role serves as a bridge between the responsibilities of a front desk receptionist and a Personal Assistant (PA) to surgeons. Operating from 8 am to 6 pm Monday through Thursday and finishing at 5 pm on Fridays, you will work on a rotating roster. Reporting directly to the Reception Team Leader, this mid-senior level role offers tremendous growth potential.
Responsibilities include:
- Acting as the first point of contact for our patients through phone, e-mail, and in person.
- Liaising with internal and external practitioners, other sportsmed teams, clinics, hospitals etc.
- Quoting for and booking surgical procedures.
- Preparing consult billing and receipting accurately, handling account enquiries and cash balancing.
- Providing PA role coverage when needed.
About You
You are naturally gifted as a communicator, excelling in managing stakeholders and ability to tackle complex tasks in fast passed environments. Your collaborative and consultative approach makes you a valuable team player, and you find joy in tackling problem-solving challenges.
Essential skills and qualities include:
- Minimum 1+ years of experience in a fast-paced medical reception/administration role - must have!
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel at basic level
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and respond to short deadlines.
- Ability to remain focused and productive in a busy, open-plan working environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
