Medical Receptionist

St Francis Medical Centre Subiaco is part of an innovative group of Health companies which also includes a cannabis clinic, cosmetic clinic, community compounding pharmacy, and a pharmaceutical company.

In exciting news, we have moved into our new premises in Subiaco, and are renovating the space to reflect our brand's vision. In light of this, we are also looking for new team members to share our vision, and grow with us.

To sustain our growth model we are looking for a patient-focused, charismatic, caring, and empathetic full-time Medical Receptionist to join our team.

Are you what we are looking for?

Although previous medical reception experience is desirable, appropriate training will be provided to the successful applicant.

Applicants without medical reception experience who meet the selection criteria below are still encouraged to apply.

Roles and responsibilities

1. Managing patient bookings
2. Invoicing and receipting of payments
3. Managing phone calls in a courteous and professional manner.
4. Interacting with patients and their families in a compassionate manner.
5. Interacting with GPs and other staff patiently and cheerfully
6. Managing clinical documents appropriately with a high level of accuracy (e.g. , scanning, filing, and faxing).
7. Maintaining patient/practice confidentiality.
8. Any other administration duties as directed by the doctors.

Selection Criteria

Essential

1. Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal.
2. Working knowledge of Windows-based software system (e.g. Excel, Word).
3. Willingness to learn and give it a “fair go”, with an interest in medical/General practice 
4. The ability to work independently, show initiative and work productively in a busy environment.
5. Ability to work as part of a team
6. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism 
7. Ability to communicate with a diverse range of people.
8. Current Covid-19 vaccination certificate

Desirable

1. Previous experience in medical/ health reception/ administration. 
2. Working knowledge of Best Practice software.
3. Understanding of medical terminology
