Casual Medical Receptionist – General Practice

Location: Hawker & Casey, ACT

We are two well-respected general practices located in Hawker and Casey offering quality care and support to our patients. Our busy practices have 13 doctors, 4 nurses, and an experienced administration team.

Our practices are seeking a motivated Medical Receptionist to join our friendly team, who would be available to work across both of our locations.

We are seeking a casual Medical Receptionist where we are offering minimum 20 hours per week and to cover holiday and sick leave.

Previous experience would be beneficial but not essential. On the job training is provided for the selected candidate.

Responsibilities:

• Greet patients with warmth and professionalism as they arrive at the clinic.
• Schedule appointments efficiently, ensuring optimal utilisation of time slots and resources.
• Answer phone calls and inquiries promptly, providing accurate information and directing calls to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Handle administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and data entry with precision and attention to detail.
• Assist patients with completing necessary forms and paperwork.
• Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate patient care and facilitate smooth transitions between appointments.
• Work with key team members and key stakeholders with a collaborative and helpful approach.

Requirements:

• Ability to travel to both Hawker and Casey locations as needed.
• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using basic computer applications.
• Strong organisational abilities and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Empathy and a customer-focused approach to patient care.
• Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in stressful situations.
