MDA National is a not-for-profit doctor's mutual, also known as an MDO (Medical Defense Organisation). The Role
A key focus of this role will be to enhance and enable the delivery of exceptional member experience through research, data analysis, actionable insights, internal project leadership and high-quality service delivery. This role will take a whole-of-service approach and play a critical role in analysing member needs, improving data utility, leading internal deliveries and enabling data-driven decision making across the business.
This position bridges the gap between data analysis and strategic execution, ensuring that projects and deliverables are aligned with member needs and business goals. This role is pivotal in driving informed decisions and improvements that foster positive member engagement and exceptional experience in a member-centric environment.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation to generate practical, actionable insights.
Experience with data collection tools, report creation, dashboard creation and data storytelling.
Ability to develop and adhere to effective project plans.
Manage and lead internal projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation and achievement of desired business outcomes.
Develop and maintain documentation for internal projects, including project plans, progress reports, risk registers and results.
Ability to conduct detailed business analysis to identify needs, challenges, and opportunities, developing actionable strategies to drive business growth.
Present data-driven insights to stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner, aiding strategic decision-making.
Ability to collaborate with business units to improve data quality and effectiveness of data systems.
Problem solving and critical thinking abilities to identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders.
Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
Equivalent experience or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting
Experience in CX measurement, insights and initiatives
Proficiency in (and curiosity for) data analytics and project management toolStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret large amounts of data.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
Detail-oriented with strong curiosity for understanding root cause and complex issues.
Previous experience within a Member-based organization, particularly in the healthcare industry would be an advantage.
Strong knowledge of the mechanics of the insurance industry would be an advantage.
Key Deliverables and Responsibilities
Data & Insights Analysis – Perform complex data analysis to extract actionable insights that support business decisions. Includes creating and maintaining dashboards and reports that effectively communicate trends, patterns and forecasts using relevant data.
Data Gathering – Provide input into the data gathering process, including identifying necessary data sources, understanding data requirements across the business, collaborating with data management teams to facilitate extraction, transformation and loading of data as well as use of effective data collection techniques/tools to enhance the accuracy and usability of data.
Quality Assurance – Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all data used and reported. Implement quality control measures and validation processes for business analysis and data reporting to ensure consistency across the business.
Project Leadership –Initiate , plan and lead internal projects, ensuring objectives are clear and aligned with business strategy. Monitor project progress, adjusting timelines and resources as needed to meet deliverables. Drive future project scoping, prioritisation, value measurement and rationale to champion pieces of work that have definable impact.
Member Experience Analysis – Conduct thorough analysis of existing member experience to identify areas for innovation and improvement. Engage with stakeholders to gather detailed business requirements and translate them into end-to-end changes and enhancements.
Stakeholder Engagement – Act as a liaison between business units, communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including presenting reports and insights in a way that is engaging and relevant.
Member Experience – Be an advocate for our members, ensuring decisions, plans, actions and outputs reflect the voice and needs of our members. Collect and draw on member data, sentiment and feedback to highlight opportunities to support members and improve their overall experience.
Strategic Planning & Implementation – Assist in the development of long-term strategic plans based on data driver insights. Implement and oversee the execution of business strategies, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
Risk Management – Stay current with industry regulations, standards, and best practices. Identify potential risks in business processes and projects. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project outcomes.
