About the Role:
The Member Safety Officer is responsible for administering Blue Card applications and Workcover claims for Surf Life Saving Queensland members.

Key Responsibilities:
- Process Blue Card applications, ensuring they are completed within the timeframes required by legislation and SLSQ policy.
- Maintain Blue Card confirmations in Surfguard.
- Link new members & delink archived members in the Blue Card Organisational Portal.
- Identify non-compliance by completing audits.
- Maintain and update the Blue Card procedure to improve processes and understanding.
- Maintain a register of Blue Card correspondence and liaise with managers, members, clubs, and Blue Card services.
- Maintain an accurate database of member injuries for lodgement and reporting.
- Assist in the administration of Workcover claims and provide support to members during the claim process.
Key Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
Essential
- Previous experience in an Administrative role.
- Working with Children Blue Card or ability to obtain one.
- Intermediate level skills for Microsoft Office Suite.
- A strong customer focus and commitment to quality service.
- Ability to plan and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
- Intermediate typing skills – minimum of 60 WPM.
Desirable
- Previous experience with Work cover.
- Knowledge of Life Saving and an empathy for volunteerism.
- Experience/knowledge of Blue Cards, the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian.
