An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified Mental Health Social Worker to join the Day Program therapy team. The Day Program therapy team offers evidence-based therapy treatment programs for people with a range of psychiatric conditions and will include inpatient and outpatient groups.
As a Mental Health Social Worker your experience will include:
- Working in a Multidisciplinary Team – and team work experience
- Using ACT, CBT, DBT –formal training in these therapies and Intervention
- Facilitating group therapy .
- Care Planning for Adult Mental Health clients
- Risk assessment and safety planning

In February 2021, a purpose built 18 bed inpatient Mental Health & AoD Unit, The Darwin Clinic opened, a new service for patients in the Northern Territory. It also incorporates a dedicated Day Rehabilitation Program. The Darwin Clinic offers Territorians a range of vital Mental Health supports, including alcohol and drug withdrawal programs, and treatment for a range of Mental Health conditions including personality disorders, mood disorders, trauma and post traumatic stress disorders.
Selection Criteria:
- Knowledge and experience in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy
- Experience in the development and creative delivery of group therapy
- Registration with AASW
- Strong Risk Management skills
- Well-developed assessment and report writing skills
- Capacity to work well in a team and practice reflectively
