The Role
The Mental Health Worker is responsible for providing high quality recovery-oriented services through recovery journey planning and can work in collaboration with other services, as necessary.
Centacare Eating Disorder Support Servies (EDSS) provides non-clinical recovery-oriented services for people experiencing Eating Disorders or disordered eating, and/or body image concerns/disturbances.
Individuals, youth, families, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities are supported in the community through telephone and face to face support, self-help and sworkshops, information, education, advocacy, and health promotion.
A key component of this role is to provide outreach services to support client's needs, reducing barriers and increasing their capacity for recovery.
This position is funded on a fixed-term contract until 30 June 2025.

What you need to bring
- Minimum qualification Certificate IV in Mental Health or equivalent
- Valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check
- Proven experience working with or understanding of the complex needs of people living with an Eating Disorder
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to do some work outside of standard hours when required
- Experience using Penelope electronic client management system
