THE ROLE
The purpose of this senior position is to spearhead the transformation and growth of the Product Merchandise business within CVG. As the company navigates through a period of transition and expansion, we seek a seasoned professional capable of driving the business forward and capitalising on emerging category management opportunities for the Commercial sector.
This role is pivotal in shaping the future direction of the merchandise department, overseeing its evolution to meet the demands of a rapidly growing market. The incumbent will be responsible for orchestrating strategic category management initiatives to optimise product and ranging decisions, pricing strategies and maximise sales performance across various programs.
With a key focus on financial accountability, this position will adopt an end-to-end approach to product lifecycle management to optimise all aspects of the business’ operation, with a particular focus on optimising product sales and working capital. Moreover, the successful candidate will lead the development of a high-performing team, nurturing talent and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
As a relatively new role to the business, there is ample scope for the incumbent to drive change and innovation, proactively shaping the future trajectory of the business. The ideal candidate will possess the strategic vision, leadership acumen, and entrepreneurial spirit required to navigate through the challenges and opportunities inherent in a growing and transitioning business landscape.

About You:
While experience in the automotive aftermarket is advantageous, it's not a strict requirement for candidates with sufficient relevant experience. You should excel in dealing with multisite businesses and central distribution centers. Leadership qualities defines you as an individual: you are customer-obsessed, exhibit a robust drive for results, and hold yourself and others accountable. Your ability to influence and collaborate fosters trust, while your proactive nature enables you to identify opportunities and solve problems within a strategic framework. You are adept at developing talent and are forward-thinking, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently in an empowered environment. With outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, you can effectively lead negotiations and manage supplier relationships. Your flexible, proactive approach, coupled with personal attributes such as energy, self-motivation, and discipline, enables you to implement procurement strategies and lead cohesive teams to achieve business objectives effectively.
