As a Metal Machinist, your role will be operating a cutting and bending machine in accordance with items specified in engineering schedules. As well as operating, there will be a requirement for adequate, regular diagnosis and maintenance.

Key tasks and responsibilities of the role:
· studying drawings and specifications to apply appropriate settings to cutting and bending machine and to determine suitable material, method and sequence of machine operations;
· producing metal parts, including steel inventory, particularly reinforcing steel and reinforcing bars of various diameters and lengths for residential, commercial and industrial use;
· inspecting fabricated and assembled metal parts for precision, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments;
· setting guides, stops and other mechanical and electrical controls on machining tools, setting up prescribed cutting and shaping tools in machines;
· diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machines, regular cleaning of machines and ensuing appropriate fluid levels in powered equipment;
· equipment maintenance and tooling;
· complying with workplace occupational health and safety policies.
Key skills and experience required:
- Mechanical engineering qualifications will be looked upon favourably;
- Knowledge of basic machine terminology and safety procedures;
- Proficiency in the English language;
- Team worker who is willing to cooperate with peers and has great communication skills;
- Minimum of 3 years recent experience.
