The position, starting ASAP, will be for an initial six month period with possible extension.
Reporting to the Road Corridor Permits Manager, the primary purpose of this role is to:
- Assist with the planning, coordination and implementation of temporary traffic management schemes, evaluation of road corridor applications, and traffic management arrangements.
- Provide technical support to Brisbane City Council staff, customers, stakeholders and external authorities on temporary traffic management matters, in accordance with relevant legislations and guidelines.
The key skills required include:
- Demonstrate customer focus by treating all customers with honesty, fairness, sensitivity, and dignity.
- Work collaboratively with team leaders to meet performance standards and expectations, providing and receiving feedback for continuous improvement.
- Evaluate and approve applications for road corridor activities.
- Assist in planning and organising road corridor activities.
- Negotiate with government agencies, specifically Queensland Police Service, for planning, approval, and coordination of road corridor activities.
- Provide advice on traffic matters adhering to relevant laws and regulations.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for road corridor permits.
- Manage billing and invoicing tasks related to road corridor applications.
The role would suit someone with experience in the principles of traffic management, road safety and driver behaviour. Qualifications in a technical or professional discipline relevant to the position would be highly advantageous.
