About the role
Join our dynamic team as a Mill Worker, where you will play a pivotal role in producing high-quality animal feed products. Your primary responsibility will be to operate and maintain mill equipment, ensuring efficient and safe processing and timely delivery of feed products. This role requires close collaboration with the production team to achieve production targets and adhere to stringent quality control standards. We are currently hiring for this critical position at our Oakey branch, where you will be directly reporting to the Production Manager.
Your key responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor mill machinery and equipment, including crushers, mixers, pellet mills, conveyors, bagging machines, and process control software.
- Report any quality or production issues to the Production Manager as soon as identified.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with the production team to meet daily production targets.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of raw materials and finished products.
- Conduct regular quality checks, including weight measurements, pellet durability, and moisture content assessments.
- Maintain a clean, organised work area and adhere to sanitation protocols.
- Comply with safety regulations and promptly report any safety concerns or incidents.
- Engage in training sessions for equipment operation, safety protocols, and industry updates.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience in a manufacturing role, preferably within the feed, agriculture or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.
- Pellet press experience (desirable)
- Experience as a forklift operator and possess a current forklift license.
- The ability to pass random drug and alcohol testing.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and maintains high standards of quality in work.
- A commitment, reliability, and a proactive approach to work.
- Ability to work as a part of a team.
- Strong computer skills.
Please note | This position requires flexibility to work day, afternoon and night shifts from Monday to Saturday, as needed, which may occasionally include some public holidays.
